Cast iron conducts heat and may become very hot during use.

Always place the dish on a stable, heat-resistant surface. A heat-resistant pad, trivet, or protective mat underneath is strongly recommended.

Because cast iron transfers heat, the bottom of the dish may become hot enough to damage sensitive surfaces.

Never place a heated dish directly on wood, fabric, plastic, painted surfaces, or other materials that may be damaged by heat.

Never leave herbs, candles, incense, charcoal, or any other burning or smoldering material unattended.
