Sekhmet is a powerful lioness-headed solar goddess traditionally associated with protection, warfare, destruction, disease, healing, and fierce divine power.
Although her mythology includes powerful and destructive aspects, she was also closely connected with protection and healing. Ancient Egyptian priests associated with Sekhmet were also linked with medical and protective practices.
