✨ Ways to Work With Spearmint

Burning is only one option. Spearmint can also be placed in charm bags for prosperity or communication, added to spell jars, placed around petition papers, used as an altar offering, incorporated into money or love workings, or placed in a bowl near your workspace when focusing on communication and clear thinking.

🏠 A Simple Smoke-Cleansing Practice

If using Spearmint as part of a smoke-cleansing blend, open windows or doors first so unwanted energy has somewhere to leave. Begin toward the back of your space and gradually work toward the main exit, paying attention to corners, doorways, mirrors, and areas where energy feels stagnant.

Once the clearing is complete, close the windows when appropriate and intentionally welcome the energy you want to remain — peace, love, prosperity, protection, or another blessing. This second step does not require smoke; bells, singing bowls, prayer, music, or spoken intentions may also be used.

Your spiritual mindset matters. Work calmly and purposefully rather than approaching a cleansing from fear, anger, or hostility.

🌿 Smoke Cleansing vs. Smudging

These terms are not interchangeable. Smoke cleansing is the broad practice of using smoke for energetic or spiritual cleansing. Smudging refers to specific sacred ceremonial practices within certain Indigenous cultures and traditions. Unless you are participating within those traditions appropriately, smoke cleansing is the more respectful general term.

No burner, cauldron, fireproof dish, charcoal, or other burning equipment is included.

If burning this herb, use only a properly heat-resistant vessel such as a fire-safe cauldron, incense burner designed for loose botanicals, heatproof charcoal burner, designated fireproof bowl, or outdoor fire pit where permitted.

Never use ordinary glass, plastic, wood, decorative dishes, or other surfaces that may crack, ignite, or transfer heat.

Never leave burning material unattended. Keep away from children, pets, fabrics, curtains, papers, and other flammable objects. Maintain ventilation.

🐦 Bird Safety: Birds are exceptionally sensitive to smoke and airborne irritants. Higher Healing Witchery Inc. does not recommend burning herbs, incense, resins, or similar products inside a home while birds are present.

🐾 Other pets may also be sensitive to smoke or particular botanicals. Keep animals away from smoke and loose herbs and ventilate thoroughly.
